The scientific committee of the convention is still open to accept additional topics to the conference program.
——

Recently, as a result of my developmental studies on human embryos, I have discovered a new version of reflexology, which identifies a homunculus represented in the human body, over the area of the buttocks. (…) As with reflexology, the “map” responds to needling, as in acupuncture, and to gentle suction, such as cupping*.
——

Uiteindelijk is prof. McLachlan toch maar niet gegaan. Lees het hele verhaal hier (engels).

SBM And The Battle For Information
21 October 2026 - Steven Novella
SBM And The Battle For Information

Part of the reason for forming SBM in the first place is because my colleagues and I perceived that we were engaged partly in a long struggle for control over information – specifically the quality of health information being pushed to the public, including the media and regulators. We did not anticipate how much this battle would change over the last few […] The post SBM And The Battle For Information first appeared on Science-Based Medicine. [...]

Why cancer patients choose “integrative oncology” and what they get: Perception vs. reality

Why cancer patients choose “integrative oncology” and what they get: Perception vs. reality

Two recent studies, one from France and one from Taiwan, examine why patients seek "integrative" oncology and what they get. An undercover investigation shows how divorced from reality their perception is.
