Kwak-kwak-kwakzalverij ontmaskerd met de Quackometer.

Kwak-kwak-kwakzalverij ontmaskerd met de Quackometer. 1

Carl Sagan and the armed spaceship of the imagination

Admiral! The Homeopathic Medicine Ray is having absolutely NO measurable effect!

1 February 2011 by Gert Jan van 't Land 4 Comments

27 January 2011 by Gert Jan van 't Land 2 Comments

‘The physician to Japanese Emperor Akihito and top scientists have slammed homeopathy as an “absurd” medicine, urging health workers to stay clear of the alternative treatment as it grows in popularity. “I cannot help but feel strong bewilderment” over the recent rise in homeopathy’s use as a treatment in Japan, said Ichiro Kanazawa, who chairs the prestigious Science Council of Japan. “The reason is that it ignores science,” Kanazawa, who is also the medical supervisor for Japan’s Imperial Household Agency, said in a statement.

The controversy has been fuelled by reports that a two-month-old baby girl died last year of a cerebral haemorrhage in Japan after she was given a homeopathic remedy instead of the normal treatment of vitamin K’.

BBC: ‘Astrologie is onzin’ – astrologen eisen excuses!

25 January 2011 by Maarten Koller 10 Comments

The Advisory Panel on Astrological Education (APAE) schreef astrologe Angela Cornish:

“If you didn’t happen to see it, there were two presenters, Professor Brian Cox and Dara O’Briain. All was going well until they got to a part where they had models of the planets in our solar system on a table and Dara was explaining that all of the planets orbit at different speeds and distances away from the Sun. He said only the earth orbits the Sun in 365 days and returns to its own place, showing that horoscopes are nonsense. He then went on to add “Let’s get this straight once and for all, Astrology is rubbish” The other presenter, Brian Cox, then agreed and said “in the interests of balance on the BBC, yes astrology is nonsense.”
